Emily-Mae Joins Hamilton London as the New Angelica Schuyler

Big news for fans of Hamilton in London! The West End production of the hit musical is set to welcome a new star to the stage. Emily-Mae has been announced as the latest addition to the cast, taking on the role of Angelica Schuyler. She will join the company at London’s Victoria Palace Theatre starting Wednesday, 14th August 2024.

Emily-Mae is no stranger to the West End, having previously starred in the Original Cast of Frozen at Theatre Royal Drury Lane and played significant roles in City of Angels at the Garrick Theatre and The Producers at the Royal Exchange Theatre. Her experience and talent will undoubtedly bring a fresh dynamic to the role of Angelica Schuyler, one of the show’s pivotal characters.

Joining Emily-Mae on stage will be Alex Sawyer as Alexander Hamilton and Jay Perry as Aaron Burr, both also starting their performances on 14th August.

Alex Sawyer brings an impressive portfolio, with roles in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead at the Old Vic and Girl from the North Country at the Noël Coward Theatre. Meanwhile, Jay Perry returns to the Victoria Palace Theatre after previous stints in Back To The Future and Motown the Musical.

The Hamilton cast is rounded out by a stellar line-up, including Nathania Ong as Eliza Hamilton, Simbi Akande as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds, Thomas Vernal as George Washington, and Lemuel Knights as Marquis De Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson. With such a talented group of performers, the show is set to continue its run as one of the most acclaimed productions in the West End.

Also joining the cast are Jordan Castle as Hercules Mulligan/James Madison and Jordan Benjamin as John Laurens/Philip Hamilton, alongside Joel Montague who will take on the role of King George III.

Supporting them is an ensemble that includes Elizabeth Armstrong, Alishia-Marie Blake, Barney Hudson Nicolais-Andre Kerry, and Christian Knight. Sam Holden and Aaron Lee Lambert also feature prominently in the production.

For those unfamiliar, Hamilton is a ground-breaking musical by Lin-Manuel Miranda, which has taken the world by storm since its debut. It tells the story of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton through a unique blend of hip-hop, R&B, and traditional musical theatre styles.

The London production is directed by Thomas Kail and features choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, with musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire.

The production’s design team, including scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Paul Tazewell, lighting design by Howell Binkley, and sound design by Nevin Steinberg, contributes to the show’s immersive experience.

The West End production of Hamilton is currently booking until 29th March 2025, with tickets available from £20. The show continues to be one of the hottest tickets in town, so be sure to book early if you want to catch Emily-Mae and the rest of the cast in action.
